Guardian University Guide 2014

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="title" style="background-color: white; margin: 0px; text-align: left;"> <span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">According to the Guardian University Guide 2014, Cambridge is ranked No. 1 among the top universities in the UK, ahead of Oxford (2nd), and London School of Economics (3rd).</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">The University of Surrey is ranked 8th in the Guardian newspaper's 2014 league table. Last year, the Guardian's Guide placed Surrey at 12th and in 2011 it was 19th position in the table.</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Leicester is rated 13th out of 119 institutions, a rise of six places on last year's position. It is the top-ranked University in the East Midlands, and one of only two from the region to appear in the top 20.</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Heriot-Watt University moved up two places from 20th to 18th this year, and is now rated as the 2nd best university in Scotland, ahead of the University of Edinburgh (ranked 19th nationally).</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">The University of Kent is now in the top 20 of UK universities, according to the Guardian University Guide 2014, a rise of two places from last year's position. US News MBA Rankings 2014

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> US News MBA Rankings 2014<br /> Harvard University and Stanford University were both tied for the No. 1 spot in the 2014 edition of U.S. News and World Report MBA Rankings, followed by the University of Pennsylvania in 3rd place.<br /> <br /> The University of California, Berkeley Full-time MBA program held at 7th out of 70 programs ranked, rating 4.6 (out of 5) based on a reputational assessment by peer school deans and MBA program directors, and a 4.1 by corporate recruiters.<br /> <br /> The McCombs School of Business full-time MBA Program was ranked 17th in the nation in the 2014 edition of U.S. News and World Report survey of Best Graduate Schools. Only four public schools placed higher than McCombs: Berkeley (7th), Virginia (12th) and UCLA and Michigan (both tied at 14th).<br /> <br /> The University of Notre Dame MBA program was ranked 27th in the nation. The program also reported a higher average starting salary of $111,255 and placement rate of 87.3 percent within three months after graduation.<br /> <br /> The UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management was ranked 37th among schools offering full-time MBA programs, tied with the University of Maryland-College Park and the University of Rochester.<br /> <br /> The Fox School of Business MBA program was ranked 58th nationally and was also ranked 5th nationally among business schools with the highest percentages of full-time 2012 MBAs employed within three months after graduation, according to U.S. News & World Report (2014).</div>

Times Higher Education 100 under 50 Ranking

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> Pohang University of Science and Technology was ranked 1st globally in the Times Higher Education 100 Under 50 rankings for 2013, followed by the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2nd place and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 3rd place.<br /> <br /> The University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) was ranked 1st among U.S. universities under 50 years old and 5th worldwide by Times Higher Education. It is the second consecutive year that the campus has ranked in the top five.<br /> <br /> The University of Victoria (Canada) was placed 1st in Canada for the second consecutive year, 5th in North America and 20th worldwide in the Times Higher Education's 100-under-50 rankings.<br /> <br /> The University of Calgary has again been named one of the best young universities in Canada. It was ranked 2nd in Canada and 23rd in the world among universities under 50 years of age. The university moved up in the rankings from 28th in 2012 to 23rd this year.<br /> <br /> The University of Newcastle (Australia) has moved up five places to be 40th in the Times Higher Education independent ranking of the world's best universities under 50 years old.</div>

Best National Universities 2013

Among top public national universities, Miami was ranked 37th, up two spaces over last year's rank. In addition, Miami again was cited for its "unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching". <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> According to the US News & World Report 2014 engineering graduate program rankings, Massachusetts Institute of Technology was ranked No. 1 in the nation and ahead of Stanford University (No. 2). UC Berkeley's College of Engineering was placed third among the top schools nationwide.<br /> <br /> The University of Maryland's Clark School of Engineering continues to maintain its high rankings. It was placed 11th among public schools and 19th overall, and 5 of its departments were rated in the top 25 in their categories.<br /> <br /> UC Santa Barbara's College of Engineering was ranked No. 20, moving up one spot from the 2013 rankings. Tied with Northwestern University, it is No. 11 among public universities. In addition, the chemical engineering graduate program at UCSB was ranked No. 9 overall, and No. 5 among public universities.<br /> <br /> Vanderbilt's School of Engineering graduate program was ranked No. 36 by U.S. News, ahead of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Boston University (both 38th).
