<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> According to the U.S. News & World Report's National University Rankings for 2013, both Harvard University and Princeton University were tied for the No. 1 spot among the best national universities in the United States, followed by Yale University in 3rd position.<br /> <br /> Miami University has improved its overall rank to 89th among all 202 national universities (public and private) in the list. Among top public national universities, Miami was ranked 37th, up two spaces over last year's rank. In addition, Miami again was cited for its "unusually strong commitment to undergraduate teaching". It was ranked 3rd among national universities, behind only Dartmouth and Princeton.<br /> <br /> Saint Louis University (SLU) was ranked 92nd out of nearly 281 national universities in the country. U.S. News also gave high marks to the undergraduate programs in entrepreneurship (13th) and international business (18th). Additionally, SLU made the "A+ Schools for B+ Students" and "High School Counselor's Picks" lists.<br /> <br /> Stony Brook University was ranked among the top 100 National Universities in America (at 92nd) according to the 2013 edition of U.S. News & World Report survey. It was also ranked 40th in the category of "Top Public Schools among National Universities" which is a category consisting of doctoral granting institutions.<br /> <br /> The University of Maine (UMaine) was ranked 83rd of all public universities and 156th overall in U.S. News 2013 edition of Best Colleges. UMaine is considered by U.S. News as Maine's only national university, a selective group of institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master's and Ph.D. programs, and an emphasis on faculty research.</div>

Guardian University Guide 2014

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"> <div class="title" style="background-color: white; margin: 0px; text-align: left;"> <span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">According to the Guardian University Guide 2014, Cambridge is ranked No. 1 among the top universities in the UK, ahead of Oxford (2nd), and London School of Economics (3rd).</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">The University of Surrey is ranked 8th in the Guardian newspaper's 2014 league table. Last year, the Guardian's Guide placed Surrey at 12th and in 2011 it was 19th position in the table.</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Leicester is rated 13th out of 119 institutions, a rise of six places on last year's position. It is the top-ranked University in the East Midlands, and one of only two from the region to appear in the top 20.</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Heriot-Watt University moved up two places from 20th to 18th this year, and is now rated as the 2nd best university in Scotland, ahead of the University of Edinburgh (ranked 19th nationally).</span><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /></span><span style="font-weight: normal;">The University of Kent is now in the top 20 of UK universities, according to the Guardian University Guide 2014, a rise of two places from last year's position. Only four public schools placed higher than McCombs: Berkeley (7th), Virginia (12th) and UCLA and Michigan (both tied at 14th).<br /> <br /> The University of Notre Dame MBA program was ranked 27th in the nation. It is the second consecutive year that the campus has ranked in the top five.<br /> <br /> The University of Victoria (Canada) was placed 1st in Canada for the second consecutive year, 5th in North America and 20th worldwide in the Times Higher Education's 100-under-50 rankings.<br /> <br /> The University of Calgary has again been named one of the best young universities in Canada. It was ranked 2nd in Canada and 23rd in the world among universities under 50 years of age. The university moved up in the rankings from 28th in 2012 to 23rd this year.<br /> <br /> The University of Newcastle (Australia) has moved up five places to be 40th in the Times Higher Education independent ranking of the world's best universities under 50 years old.</div>
